well, ill just skip the formalities of saying how happy i am that im on livejournal and get to the good stuff.
its been almost two weeks and i havent wrote any of my trip down.
its been extremely exciting i was in Iceland for the longest time (only a week but i felt long). But wow, i could not believe the city of Reyjkvik, it was beautiful. the city was so small and low to the ground and the only thing you could see from a far from the city was the main church. the island was so green it was amazing, it was like walking into a painting. greass so green and running for miles around the city mixed with black lava rocks covered with moss running the outskirts of the city and on as far as the eyes can see. colorful houses and roofs cover the hillsides on the city. And blue skys and the whitest of white clouds. the ocean matched the sky, it places you couldnt tell where one started and the other ended.
so many waterfalls i couldnt believe it, they came from everywhere. every single one of them so beautiful, they just seemed to run the length of the mountainsides. tons of snowcaps and glaciers. i found out that the largest icecap outside the polar regions was in Iceland. it covers over 1/12th of the island. at the base of one of the sides of the icecap, named vatnajokull, there was a lagoon that was full of glaciers. it was cool because they filmed 2 bond films and a tomb raider film there. that was so awesome, when the glacier breaks or gets top heavy and flips the ice that hasnt been exposed to the air comes to the surface and the light that hits them turns them a dark blue.
i dont know it was all so clean and fresh. it was actually kind of fake looking. the air was so clean it burned to breath and everyone whos lived in san diego for a long time then gone out to the country knows what im talking about. but i mean it burrrrrrrrrrnnns, it was hard to climb stairs. Nicole and I decided that Iceland was not real, they just decided to inflate a huge balloon and cover it in foam and spraypaint all of it so it looked like rocks and moss and grass. cause if you stepped in the lava fields you would sink and inch or so from walking on it. it was strange.
so more to come from amsterdam soon...
